Talk of session: Solar Equipment Manufacturing in India - Opportunities and Challenges

Atmanirbhar Bharat or Self-reliant India is one of the key visionary initiatives of the Government of India. The self-reliant solar sector is critical not only to the country's decarbonisation goals but also to its energy and national security. In order to promote self-reliance in the solar sector, the Government of India launched Production Linked Incentive(PLI) scheme to boost domestic manufacturing of Solar PV technologies. The country also imposed Basic Customs Duty(BCD) on imported modules and initiated the "Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM)" to facilitate the growth of domestic manufacturing. <br /><br />This session will focus on <br />&bull; The state of India's PV manufacturing across the entire value chain (Polysilicon to Modules) <br />&bull; Challenges and opportunities for domestic manufacturers.</p> <br /><p>
