New energy sources require not only new equipment and innovative technologies. They also require people to operate them. To properly utilize the new energy sources, the largest expected job gains are in electrical efficiency, power generation, and the automotive sector.

Green hydrogen has generated a lot of interest, but it seems that the economic feasibility for most applications is still several years away. This panel will provide insights into the different variants of low-carbon hydrogen and key levers to address the competitiveness gap.

Brazil is a leading producer of agricultural commodities, but remains highly dependent on imports of fertilizers and other strategic inputs for the agricultural sector. This panel will focus on the use of green hydrogen for the production of low-carbon nitrogen fertilizers and other high priority applications for the domestic market.

Commercial and industrial customers have been a particularly challenging segment to address, largely due to the generous discounts these users receive on T&D charges. However, the recent cost reductions of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) are making this segment increasingly attractive, opening up new opportunities for project developers focused on energy storage.
