Green Hydrogen Manifesto: Europe as a Role Model for Hydrogen Introduction

The smarter E Podcast Episode 70 | November 11, 2021 | Language: English

Green hydrogen plays a crucial role in the climate-friendly energy mix of the future. Important impulses for the promotion of this energy carrier are now being provided by the "Green Hydrogen Manifesto" , which was most recently presented as part of The smarter E Europe Restart 2021. The initiators Hydrogen Europe, the German Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association DWV, the European Electrolyzer & Fuel Cell Forum EFCF and The smarter E Europe want to send a clear signal for decarbonization and a sustainable circular economy. Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, CEO of the European association Hydrogen Europe, reveals what concrete demands are being made of policymakers and what economic and political opportunities green hydrogen offers.

Timeline:

  • 4.40: Why is there a need for the manifesto?

  • 7.40: What are the central contents and demands in the manifesto?

  • 13.18: In which European countries and regions do you see the greatest potential?

  • 23.03: Economic opportunities for the European Union: What do these look like in concrete terms?
