The development of off-grid projects is highly complex and requires detailed local data as well as sophisticated sizing tools in order to identify the ideal supply system from a technical and a financial perspective. To determine sustainable delivery models for off-grid electricity, socio-political conditions also need to be taken into consideration. In this session, we will showcase a range of approaches and tools for improving demand assessment, system optimization using solar-home-systems and mini-grids, as well as best practices for successful delivery models. The cases are based on the three-year research and development project "People Power: Optimizing off-grid electricity supply systems in Nigeria" (PeopleSuN).
