Marilia Braga, from the Fotovoltaica-UFSC group and vice-president of ABENS, addressed the importance of discussions about photovoltaic plants at an event. Emerson Viana presented the Hélio Vargas Solar Complex as an example of sustainable construction with 662 MW generated by 1,250,000 solar panels in Minas Gerais. This project was completed quickly within planned costs and includes a new substation to support this renewable infrastructure focused on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) trends. The complex occupies around 1,200 hectares with fourteen thousand Nextrackers for energy optimization under adverse weather conditions while minimizing the maintenance required. Emerging grid formation with batteries is being explored globally despite financial challenges due to the high cost compared to traditional inverters; they are expected to play a crucial role in clean energy dominated systems in the future as policies slowly advance in the world's leading energy countries contrasting with Latin America still unregulated in this promising innovative aspect.
Daniele Baltazar Cavalcante discussed the “energy is sucked” methodology related to the reduction in efficiency of solar modules caused by accumulated dirt, highlighting its significant economic relevance associated with annual financial losses in solar production due to environmental contamination and emphasizing effective preventive methods based on precise measurements according to IEC specifications.
The DELVOS methodology evaluates plant performance through the Energy Performance Index (EPI), using rigorously filtered data collected periodically during optimal hours taking into account local climatological variables optimized via artificial intelligence allowing informed decisions on efficient cleaning based on the Soiling Index while promoting continuous technological innovation facilitating operational resilience improving productivity grid integration future collective sustainability transformation current energy paradigm essential mitigation negative climate impact urgency gradual progressive adaptation coordinated collaborative international strategic partnerships maximized potential inexhaustible resource abundant accessible inexpensive significant benefit society environment world economy long term commitment holistic vision encompassing relevant contemporary aspects crucial priority attention concrete actions immediate beneficial all involved directly indirectly full value chain integrity transparency ethics conduct responsible practices appropriately aligned principles common core values humanity aspirations.
